OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST JOINS PORTLAND ROW FOR THE CURE

Portland Row for the Cure ® is pleased to announce that two-time Olympic Medalist and three time World Champion, Anna Mickelson Cummins, will join participants from across the northwest at the 19th annual Portland Row for the Cure®.   Rowers in Racing Shells and paddlers in Dragon Boats, Canoes and Kayaks will come together September 30th, 2012, on the Willamette River in Portland Oregon, to join the fight against breast cancer.  Survivors are prominent participants in both the Dragon Boats and in an eight oared shell captained by founder Kathy Frederick.  Portland Committee Chair, Juanita Chambers said that Station L Rowing Club has hosted the Portland Row for the Cure® since it was established in 1993.  Today, with events in 15 U.S. states and Germany, Row for the Cure® has blossomed into a multi-sport series of events that include athletes of all ages and abilities.
