In 2006, 350 competitors including 15 current and former U.S. national team rowers, 24 paddlers in two Tulalip tribal canoes and corporate teams from Starbucks, Zymogenetics and the Seattle law firm of Lane Powell, took to the waters of Lake Union to compete in the annual breast cancer benefit.

“Row for the Cure® is an empowering, active and healthy and a tremendously beautiful event,” said Lynn Hagerman, Executive Director of Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Puget Sound Affiliate.  “Row for the Cure® taps into Seattle and Puget Sound’s rowing and maritime culture, and brings people together to participate in finding a cure for breast cancer,” she added.  “We value this partnership and are grateful to the Row for the Cure® committee and participants for their support.”
