Pocock Racing Shells to fund
Row for the Cure® matching grant program

PORTLAND, Ore., June 15, 2007 – Pocock Racing Shells (www.pocock.com) of Everett, Wash. has expanded its five-year commitment in the fight against breast cancer by funding a matching corporate grant program with Row for the Cure® regattas throughout the United States.

The grant program is an expansion of Pocock’s existing five-year commitment as a major sponsor of Row for the Cure® in Seattle.

Structured to jump-start new Row for the Cure® regattas and engage local business communities in rowing’s fight against breast cancer, the Pocock Row for the Cure® grant program will make a total of $3,000 available annually to Row for the Cure® regattas through 2010. The program is also available to existing USRowing regattas that incorporate breast cancer races benefiting their local Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliate.

Beginning in 2007, grants matching a single corporate gift of between $500 and $1,000 are available to new or existing regattas on a one-time basis. Grants will be made by Pocock Racing Shells to the regatta’s local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the name of their participating Row for the Cure® regatta. Since 1994, Row for the Cure® regattas, which are third-party events of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, have raised over $500,000 for local affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the fight against breast cancer.

“Many of us in the rowing community have been affected or have had someone we know affected by breast cancer,” said Bill Tytus, president of Pocock Racing Shells. “Our hope is that this program can contribute to the success of local Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliates in curing this disease and generate interest in new Row for the Cure® regattas.”

Pocock Row for the Cure® grants are allocated to Row for the Cure® regattas on a first-come, first-serve basis. Applications are available at www.RowForTheCure.com.
